Anjlie Vellody

Artist Anjlie Vellody has always been intrigued by life’s commonplace paradoxes which question all notions of ultimate truth that we tend to conceive either conveniently or compulsively.

For Vellody’s incisive mind, even a stray thought, fleeting image or an everyday incident could prove the trigger point for creative conception. Even though inspirations often occur to her in the middle of the night, the process of creation from the first sketch to the final painting takes several weeks, thanks to her intricate and back-breaking technique to achieve
the etched look.

Anjlie Vellody studied her BFA (Painting) from JJ School of Arts. She emerged on the arts scene with her critically acclaimed exhibition for Akshaya Group in 1976 and ever since, she has created several enduring works for private collectors across the globe.
