Nature is the protagonist in Samir Mohanty’s artwork. He explores how the human body and nature are welded to the other and an exploration of this intertwined reality is the essence of what he creates. He works with living, breathing materials he gathers from nature to create art that harks back to his roots. The material he employs speaks as loud as the piece of art itself. He is an experimentalist who works with installations and sculptures too besides paintings. His works are an incorporation of his earthy roots, his nostalgia towards the same, profound ideas of man-nature symbiosis, science, and spirituality.
